Redding Newcomers & Friends Club is a social non-profit (501c4) women’s organization whose objectives are to welcome newcomers as well as residents who are not new to the area. We provide social activities to help members become acquainted with the community and with each other. At present, there are almost 300 members with club activities for individuals and couples. The number of current members and the variety of sponsored activities attest to the success of the Club.
We are not primarily a philanthropic organization, however, one of the programs we are most proud of is our Make a Difference Scholarship program. We offer a Family Scholarship and a Re-Entry Scholarship.
Current Redding Newcomer and Friends members may sponsor a family member to apply. This includes daughters, sons, granddaughters, grandsons, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.
Re-entry women who are interested in pursuing higher education are also encouraged to apply.
The scholarship amount will be determined by the number of applicants approved and the budgeted amount from the Redding Newcomers and Friends Club.
